<span>The function of a cell wall has the same function of the cell membrane; it protects the cell. Cell wall is made up of cellulose that is only present in plant cells. Cellulose is a sugar that has a sheet like structural carbohydrate. It is rigid that is used for support and provides protection to the plant cell from damage. They cannot be dissolved in water. An example is if you eat food that contains mostly of leaves. You will observe that you will eliminate the same material as when you it. That is because our human body does not have the enzyme that dissolves the cellulose.</span>

Answer;

Unlike animal cells (such as cheek cells) the cell wall of an onion and other plants are made up of cellulose, which protects the cell and maintains its shape.

Explanation;

-The main structural differences between plant and animal cells lie in a few additional structures found in plant cells. These structures include: chloroplasts, the cell wall, and vacuoles.

-Plants cells have cell walls and other structures that differ from those of animals. Animal cells do not have cell walls and have different structures than plant cells. Plants have either no or very basic ability to sense.

The population of a colony of mosquitoes obeys the law of uninhibited growth. If there are 1000 mosquitoes initially and there a
Agata [3.3K]

Answer:

2,855 is the size of the colony of mosquitoes after 4 days.

Explanation:

The law of uninhibited growth is given as:

A=A_o\times e^{k\times t}

A_o= Original amount

A = Amount after time t

k = Positive constant repressing the rate of growth

We are given with:

Original population of mosquitoes = 1000

Population of mosquitoes after 1 day =1300

t = 1 day

1300=1000\times e^{k\times 1 day}

k = 0.2623 day^{-1}

Population size of mosquitoes after 4 days

A_o=1000, k= 0.2623 day^{-1}

A =? , t = 4 days

A=1000\times e^{ 0.2623 day^{-1}\times 4 days}

A =2,855.36 ≈ 2,855 mosquitoes

2,855 is the size of the colony of mosquitoes after 4 days.

Match each step of the scientific method with the order it usually occurs in. 1. 1st Step data collection 2. 2nd Step communicat
AysviL [449]

Answer:

1st Step: Observation

2nd Step: Questioning

3rd Step: Data Collection

4th Step: Data analysis

5th Step: Communication

In the scientific method, the first step is always to make an observation. You can observe anything in your environment, or a phenomena, or behavior.

The next step would be to question. You form a question to find a possible explanation as to why what you had observed occurred. This is also when you make a hypothesis. An educated guess or a proposal that could explain the event.

After you make a hypothesis, you start an experiment where you will collect data. The data you collect would then be analyzed (4th step). From there you build your conclusion to determine whether your hypothesis holds true.

The last step would be communication. You will communicate the results of your method. This allows people to review your data and process, which may be supported or invalidated. Communication is critical in the scientific world because your results could be the basis for further investigation.
