If 600=3/4 then you divide both by 3 and you get 200=1/4 do fine unit rate multiply both sides by 4 and you get 800km/hr divide 800 by three to get one third of it (266 and 2/3) then multiply it by two (533 and 1/3) you must add the two thirds to the one to get 1333 and one third.

600 = 45x  (x= minutes)
13.3333333=x

1*(2/3) = 80 minutes

80x= 13.333333*80
<span>
Therefore the airplane flies 1066.66664 km in 80 minutes or 1 2/3 hours

Determine the quantity needed to replace the question mark to make the scale balance The weight times the distance on both sides
Mariana [72]

Solution :

Given

$W_1$ = weight of the first side

    = 6 kg = 6000 g

$D_1$ =  distance of the first weight from the triangle.

     = 3 m = 300 cm

$D_2$ = distance of the first weight from the triangle.

    =  600 cm

Let, $W_2$ = weight of the second side

So,  $W_1$ x $D_1$  = $W_2$ x $D_2$

or  $W_2=\frac{W_1 \times D_1}{D_2}$

  $W_2=\frac{6000\times 300}{600}$

        = 3000 g

Therefore, the quantity that is used to replace the question mark in order to make the scale balance is 3000 g.

If AACD ~ AABE, find the value of x.
Anastaziya [24]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  x = 16

Step-by-step explanation:

Corresponding sides are proportional.

  BE/CD = AE/AD

  20/(3x+8) = (x-1)/(x-1+27)

  20(x+26) = (3x+8)(x -1)

In standard form, this is ...

  3x^2 -15x -528 = 0

  x^2 -5x -176 = 0 . . . . . . divide by 3

  (x -16)(x +11) = 0 . . . . . . . factor

  x = 16

__

This is the positive value that makes the product zero. x=-11 will also make the product 0, but gives negative segment lengths in the geometry. It is an extraneous solution.

The volume of a sphere is 2,143.572,ft cubed. To the nearest foot, what is the radius of the sphere? Use 3.14 for pi.
babymother [125]

Volume of a sphere is defined:

V=\frac{4\pi r}{3}

Solve for radius.

3V=4\pi r\Longrightarrow r=\frac{3V}{4\pi}

Now put in the data.

r=\frac{3\cdot2143.572}{4\cdot3.14} \\ \\r=\frac{6430.716}{12.56}\approx\boxed{30010}

The radius of the sphere is 30010ft.

Hope this helps.
