d by this expression? A. Sam does not know how many apples he has. He knows he gave away 12 apples. B. Sam knows he has 12 apples left. He does not know how many apples he gave away. C. Sam knows he has 12 apples left. He gave away half of his apples. D. Sam knows he had 12 apples to start. He does not know how many apples he gave away.

on A. you would want to divide the apples by how many friends he has.

on B. he would have to go back and ask his friends how many he gave to him.

on C. you would just add 12+12 and then you would have 24.

on D. it would be the same as question B

The answer is D, I believe. The problem starts off with 12 and subtracts "a", which represents the given apples.

Virty [35]

Answer:

<6, <5, <7 all equal 48 degrees.

<1, <2, <3, <4 all equal 132 degrees.

Step-by-step explanation:

Straight angles (like <5 & <2) are supplementary, so they equal 180 when added together

Vertical angles (like <2 & <1) have the same measurments

Corresponding angles (like <8 & <6) have the same measurements

Alternate interior angles (like <8 & <5) have the same measurments

Alternate exterior angles (like <6 & <7) have the same measurements

Same-side interior angles (like <8 & <2) are supplementary, so they add to 180.

There's more, and there's other ways to do this, this is just an example. Good luck! <3

The graph shows the solution to which system of inequalities?
Salsk061 [2.6K]
Answer:
b. y ≤ x + 1 and y > x - 3

Explanation:
First of all, remember that a solid line means the inequality has a ≤ or ≥ sign, and a dotted line means the inequality has a < or > sign.
One way to solve this is to find a point inside the shaded region, like (0, 0) that you can test in the options to see which ones work. Another method is to figure out what the graph of each line is and then make sure the signs are turned the right direction so the shading is correct.
We know that the first inequality should have a greater/less than or equal to sign because the line is solid and the second inequality should just be a greater/less than sign because the line is dotted. That means it has to be B, because this is the only correct combination of signs.
But to be sure, you should check. Try (-1,0) and (0, 0)
y ≤ x + 1   and  y > x - 3
0 ≤ -1 + 1         0 > - 1 - 3
0 ≤ 0 yes         0 > - 4 yes

0 ≤ 0 + 1          0 > 0 - 3
0 ≤ 1 yes         0 > -3  yes

7. License Plate Laws The Chapter Problem involved passenger cars in Connecticut and passenger cars in New York, but here we con
sergejj [24]

Yes it is true that commercial truck owners violate laws requiring front license plates at a higher rate than owners of passenger cars because null hypothesis is rejected.

Given among 2049 Connecticut passenger cars, 239 had only rear license plates. Among 334 Connecticut trucks, 45 had only rear license plates.

let p_{1} be the probability that commercial cars have rear license plates and p_{2} be the probability that connected trucks have rear license plates.

                         Cars                     Trucks                         Total

Total                  2049                    334                             2383

x                          239                      45                                284

p                        0.1166                   0.1347                          0.1191

α=0.05

Hypothesis will be  :

H_{0}:p_{1} =p_{2}

H_{1} :p_{1} < p_{2}

It is a left tailed test at 0.05 significance.

Standard errors of p=\sqrt{p(1-p)/n}

=\sqrt{(0.1191*0.8809)/2383}

=\sqrt{0.1049/2383}

=0.0066

Test statistic Z=p difference/standard error

=(0.1166-0.1347)/0.0066

=-0.0181/0.0061

=-2.967

p value=0.001505<5%

Since p is less than 5% we reject null hypothesis.

We cannot calculate standard deviation so  we cannot calculate confidence interval.

Hence there is statistical evidence at 5% significance level to support that commercial truck owners violate laws requiring front license plates at a higher rate than owners of passenger cars.

Assume that the sales of a certain appliance dealer are approximated by a linear function. Suppose that sales were $14,500 in 19
Korolek [52]
A linear function has the form : f(x)=ax+b

we are given that

f(0)=a*0+b=b is <span>$14,500.

so the sales in the first year were </span>$14,500.

f(1) gives the sales in the second year     (year 83)
f(2) gives the sales in the third year          (year 84)
.
.
f(5) gives the sales in the sixths year        (year 87)

the slope of the line, a, is given by :

\frac{f(5)-f(0)}{5-0}= \frac{65,500-14,500}{5}= 10,200

thus,

S=ax+b=10,200x+<span>14,500
</span>

Answer: S=10,200x+14,500

How do you simplify without using a calculator (-5)(7)+4×5
Evgesh-ka [11]

Answer:

-15 Is the answer

Step-by-step explanation:

(-5)(7)+4×5

= -15

(-5)(7) + 4×5 = -15/1 = -15

Multiple: -5 * 7 = -35

Multiple: 4 * 5 = 20

Add: the result of step No. 1 + the result of step No. 2 = -35 + 20 = -15

Hope this helps.
