.This is how I do problems like these: Basically 8.5 is the same as 8.50. I look at the .50 and I take half of 50. Half of 50 is 25 and half of 8 is 4. So the answer would be 4.25. I hope this helps!

Help please I need to find the area I don’t know how thanks
otez555 [7]

Answer:

49.62

Step-by-step explanation:

You can start by dividing the shape into 2 separate rectangles to make calculating the area easier.

9.3 x 2.4 = 22.32

10.5 x 2.6 = 27.3

Then, add the areas of the two separate rectangles to find the total area of the shape.

22.32 + 27.3 = 49.62. Hope that helped

Write a real world problem that you would represent with the equation 4x+5=37.
AURORKA [14]
Bob was 5 feet off the ground. He travels 4 feet every single second. How long will it take for him to reach 37 feet?

4x + 5 = 37

4x + 5 (-5) = 37 (-5)

4x = 32

4x/4 = 32/4

x = 8

It will take Bob ~8 seconds to reach 37 feet*

How is this equation completed? I cannot find any examples in the book.

Answer: Option D

t_{max} =19\ s

Step-by-step explanation:

Note that the projectile height as a function of time is given by the quadratic equation

h = -12t ^ 2 + 456t

To find the maximum height of the projectile we must find the maximum value of the quadratic function.

By definition the maximum value of a quadratic equation of the form

at ^ 2 + bt + c is located on the vertex of the parabola:

t_{max}= -\frac{b}{2a}

Where a

In this case the equation is: h = -12t ^ 2 + 456t

Then

a=-12\\b=456\\c=0

So:

t_{max} = -\frac{456}{2*(-12)}

t_{max} =19\ s
