The nature vs. nurture debate is used to evaluate factors associated with individuals' behavior and life outcomes. Those who support the 'nature' argument state that a person's behavior and outcomes result from his or her innate genetic make up and other biological factors rather than external factors. 

On the other hand, those who support the 'nurture' argument state that external factors, outside an individual such as the socialization and learning they receive shape their behavior and life outcomes to a much larger extent compared to their genetic makeup.</span>
