Gases released from geothermal fluids also contains H2S (hydrogen sulphide) that smells exactly like rotten eggs. The typical emission of H2S from the geothermal power plant is very minute in amount which is almost one ppb (part per billion). The smell of H2S emitted from the plant is so less that it does not needs any special standards to comply with it.

There are various types of treatment procedures to remove the hydrogen sulphide up to a certain extent.
