The Roman religion and Christianity have some, though not many, similarities. For instance, both religions have a history with sacrifices serving as offerings to the higher power. Another is that at one point both religions were the official religion of Rome.

In 324 Constantine, the very first Christian emperor began to be the sole ruler of the Roman Empire. He made his Eastern headquarters at the Ancient Greek colony of Byzantium in 330. The city was renamed Constantinople after its founder, and was also coined as the "new Rome".
