y= mx + b

b is the y intercept. This is where the line meets the y axis. In this case, your b is -1

m is the slope, remember this as rise over run. So on the graph at (0,-1) to get to the next point on the graph, you need to rise by 2 ( go up on the graph by 2) and run by 1 (go right on the graph by 1) and the next point is (1,1), another point would be (2,3) and so forth.
