The birth rate is a demographical rate related to the number of babies born alive every year in a country. In general terms, less-developed countries have higher birth rates than developed countries. For example, the countries in Africa such as Mali or Zambia have high birth rates, while countries such as Germany or Italy have low birth rates. This is explained due to many factors that include low education levels, restricted access to birth control methods, lack of information about how to prevent pregnancy, different cultural ideas about family and prohibition of abortion in less-developed countries. Thus, it is false birth rates are lower in less-developed countries because they are actually higher.
