The correct answer is B) Containment.

Containment is the policy of stopping communism from spreading into other countries. The US adopted this policy after World War II.

One of the reasons behind this policy was America's rivalry with the Soviet Union, which was a communist country. Along with this, the system of communist went against many American values. For example, a communist system revolves heavily around government involvement in the economy. This includes telling businesses what products to create and how much of it to create. The US, on the other hand, was more in favor of a free market economy which allows businesses and consumers to make their own decisions.

This policy of containment would result in the US getting involved in the Korean and Vietnam War.

Why was acquiring alaska important to the uswhy did the us want alaska?
Zolol [24]
Russia offered to sell Alaska in 1859 because they were in debt from the Crimean War. The U.S. did not initially make this purchase because of Civil War debts.

At the time of the purchase, America was still in a expansive mood. No one knew of any resources in Alaska then. Oil was not a big one for anyone. Alaska was even called "Stewart's Folly" (Stewart was a secretary of the interior) and a waste of federal money. (The dang place went for about 10 cents per square mile!)

Stewart wanted to simplify the map of North America and to block the British in Canada from further expansion as the USA and the British Empire were still not the best of friends.

Also, the Russians felt they could never have a firm hold on such a distance colony, needed some cash in a hurry because of a pending war with the Ottoman Empire and the Tzar on the throne at the time was a bit wacky.

It was strictly a move by the USA to secure the last major piece of real estate still open in North America.

I hope this helps:)

Alexander the Great's empire was divided following his death. What three powerful dynasties developed from this division? Descri
andre [41]
The three powerful dynasties that developed after Alexander the Great's death were. Ptolemy dynasty, Seleucus dynasty and  Antigonid dynasty. For Ptolemy dynasty, they were absorbed with the Roman Empire and because their rulers were not effective, they were under control by the Romans in Egypt. For the Seleucus dynasty, they lost control over the Asia Minor against the Roman Empire and was abolished by Pompey the Great. Antigonid dynasty lost their war against the Romans because of the three "fetters" of Greece through three wars.
