Answer:

The trace 704" long.

Step-by-step explanation:

The trace will be 14 times the circumference of the wheel. With a radius of 8", the circumference L is

L = 2\pi r = 2\pi \cdot 8 = 50.27"

and so 14 times that is approximately 704".

A cyclist traveling at 26 mph is followed 6 hours later by a car traveling at 78 mph. How long will it take the car to overtake
MariettaO [177]

A cyclist traveling at 26 mph is followed 6 hours later by a car traveling at 78 mph.

Let x be the time taken by the cyclist

Speed of the cyclist = 26 mph

WE know distance = speed * time

so distance traveled by cyclist = 26*x

car started 6 hours later

(x-6) is the time taken by the car

Speed of the car = 78 mph

distance traveled by car = 78(x-6)

when the car overtakes the cyclist then the distance becomes same

so 26x= 78(x-6)

solve for x

26 x = 78x - 468

Subtract 78x on both sides

-52x = -468

Divide both sides b y 52

so x= 9

Time taken by the cyclist  = 9 hours

car started 6 hours later

So time taken by the car = 9-6 = 3 hours

it will take 3 hours for the car to overtake the cyclist

Given the table of value below, which of the following ordered pairs are found on the graph of the inverse function ?
mr Goodwill [35]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

Option: C is the correct answer.

The ordered pair which will be found in the graph of the inverse function is:

C.  (0,-2) , (4,-1) , (8,0) , (12,1) , (16,2)

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

We are given a table of values as:

       x                f(x)

     -2                 0

     -1                  4

      0                  8

      1                   12

      2                  16

i.e. the domain of the function is: {-2,-1,0,1,2}

and range of the function is: {0,4,8,12,16}

We now that for any function f(x) and it's inverse function the x and y value get interchanged i.e. the domain of the function f(x) becomes the range of its inverse function and the range of the function f(x) becomes the domain of the inverse function.

Hence, for any function with given ordered pair the inverse function will have ordered pair with x and y-value getting swapped.

i.e. if (-2,0) is an ordered pair of f(x)

then (0,-2) will be an ordered pair in the inverse function of f(x).

Hence, similarly all the ordered pairs could be obtained.

            The answer is:

             Option: C
