Mustafa’s soccer team is planning a school dance as a fundraiser. The DJ charges $200 and decorations cost $100. The team decide

s to charge each student $5.00 to attend the dance. If n represents the number of students attending the dance, which equation can be used to find the number of students needed to make $1,500 in profit? 5n – 300 = 1,500 5n + 300 = 1,500 5n – 200 + 100n = 1,500 5n – 100 – 200n = 1,500

DJ + decorations = 200+100 = 300

tickets are $5 each

 so 5n would be the total amount of money made then you need to subtract 300 ( cost of DJ and decorations )

 so answer is: 5n - 300 = 1500

if you want to solve:

5n -300 = 1533

add 300 to each side

5n = 1800

divide both sides by 5

1800/5 = 360 tickets need to be sold

Solve the following system of equations and show all work.<br> y = 2x2<br> y =<br> 3x -1 (10 points)
dedylja [7]

Answer: \left(\frac{1}{2}, 1 \right), (1, 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

We have y=2x^{2} and y=3x-1.

Since both of the equations are set equal to y, we can conclude that:

2x^2 = 3x-1\\\\2x^{2}-3x+1=0\\\\(2x-1)(x-1)=0\\\\x=\frac{1}{2}, 1

If x=\frac{1}{2}, then y=3\left(\frac{1}{2} \right)-1=1

If x=1, then y=3-1=2

Therefore, the solutions are \left(\frac{1}{2}, 1 \right), (1, 2)

AURORKA [14]

y = a(1-r)^×

source: https://mathbitsnotebook.com/Algebra2/Exponential/EXGrowthDecay.html

y = exponential decay

a = initial amount = 78000

r = decay rate = .03

x = number of time intervals = w

Error:

b = growth/ decay factor

b = 1+r for growth

b = 1-r for decay

x = w per the above information

Sarah did not account for either of these points when creating her equation.

Correct solution:

y = 78000 (1-.03)^w

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

9. (-2, 2) (4, 3)

  (3 - 2)/(4 + 2) = 1/6

10. (-2, 2) (3, 4)

     (4 - 2)/(3 + 2) = 2/5

11. (3 - 13)/(0 + 16)= -10/16= -5/8

12. (-19 - 0)/(7 + 12) = -19/19= -1
