Answer:

(a) When 400 donuts are made daily the company's profits is 250 dollars.

(b)  The Company should produce 950 donuts daily in order to maximize its profits.

Step-by-step explanation:

Profit function P(x) = - 0.001 x² + 1.9x - 350

where p is the profit and x is the quantity of donuts made daily.

(a) If x = 400, the company's profit is:

P(x) = - 0.001 x² + 1.9x - 350

= - 0.001 (400)² + 1.9(400) - 350

= -\frac{160000}{1000} + \frac{7600}{10} - 350

= - 160 + 760 - 350

= 760 - 510

= 250

(b) The profit of a firm is maximum when MR = MC or MR - MC = 0 which is also known as break even point. In other words, at break-even point the profit function equals to zero. ∴,

\frac{d}{dx} P(x) = \frac{d}{dx}(- 0.001x^{2} + 1.9x - 350)

\frac{d}{dx}(- 0.001x^{2} + 1.9x - 350) = 0

- 0.002 x + 1.9 = 0

x = \frac{1.9}{0.002}

x = 950

Therefore, the Company should produce 950 donuts daily in order to maximize its profits.

WITCHER [35]

Answer:

The length of the parallelogram is 18 meters

The width of the parallelogram is 16 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of a parallelogram is 68 meters

LEt x be the length of the parallelogram

Width is 2 meters less than its length

Width =x-2

Perimeter of parallelogram = 2(length + width)

Perimeter of parallelogram =

=

Add 2 on both sides

Divide by 4 on both sides

x=18

The length of the parallelogram is 18 meters

The width of the parallelogram is 18-2= 16 meters

Using more advanced technology, a team of workers began to produce 6 more parts per hour than planned. As a result the team fulf
Aliun [14]

Answer: 10 parts per hour

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the team supposed to produce x parts per hour.

Thus, in 8 hour, the team supposed to produce = 8 x

Now, when company produce 6 more parts per hour than planned ,

Then the new parts per hour produced by company = x + 6

Thus, in 6 hour, the team supposed to produce = 6 ( x +6 )

According to the question,

As a result of new plan the team fulfilled 120% of an eight hours day work in six hours.

That is, \text{120\% of 8 x} = 6 ( x +6 )

⇒ \frac{120\times 8x}{100} = 6 x + 36

⇒ \frac{960x}{100} = 6 x + 36

⇒ 9.6 x = 6 x + 36

⇒ 9.6 x - 6 x = 36

⇒ 3.6 x = 36

⇒  x = 10

Thus, 10 parts per hour was the team supposed to produce according to the plan.
