How did the management of irrigation lead to the creation of government?
Usimov [2.4K]

Answer:

Management of river water irrigation led indirectly to the creation of the first governments and civilizations.

Civilization as such has its origin in Mesopotamia, where the first socially organized peoples settled on the banks of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, to start their sedentary lifestyle there. The place was chosen because it is located between these two rivers, which provided sources of water for consumption, transportation and cultivation. Therefore, once these peoples managed to manage the river channels and the irrigation that they made of the surrounding land, these civilizations began to develop technologically and socially.

These advances allowed men to accumulate resources, since there was an overproduction of food thanks to new technologies. As a consequence of this, the first political organizations and governments emerged, aimed at effectively organizing access to these resources.
