If we sub the t values of -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 into the equation for x, we have x values of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. If we plug those t values into the equation for y, we have y values of -2, 0, 2, 4, 6, 8. When we put those together in coordinate form we have (2, -2), (3, 0), (4, 2), (5, 4), (6, 6), (7, 8). If you plot those points on a piece of graph paper they form a straight line. So in order to write the equation of that line, we need the slope between any 2 points. Let's pick the second and third points (no negatives!) and fit them into the slope formula:

m=\frac{2-0}{4-3}=2. So the slope is 2. Now we will use a point, an easy one (let's use the second one) and fill in the point-slope formula like so:

y - 0 = 2(x - 3) and distribute to get y - 0 = 2x - 6 or simplifying, y = 2x - 6. That's the equation you want in rectangular form.

Should the quotient of an integer divided by a nonzero integer always be a rational number? Why or Why not?
lubasha [3.4K]
Yes, it will always be a rational number. I'll expound on this by defining what a rational number is. It is any number that can be expressed as a fraction. Otherwise, it is called an irrational number with a non-terminating decimal expansion. So, although 1/3 has a non-terminating decimal expansion because it is equal to 0.33333333...., it is still a rational number because it can be expressed into a fraction.

PLEASE HELP!!
How many solutions can be found for the equation −4x − 11 = 2(x − 3x) + 13?
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer: No~Solutions

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's factor then solve to find the complex solutions.

Rearrange the equation by subtracting what is to the right of the equal sign from both sides of the equation : -4x-11=2(x-3x)+13

Equations that are never true:

1.1 ~~~~ Solve : -24 = 0

This equation has no solution.

A non-zero constant never equals zero.

Therefore your answer is No~Solution
