To solve for x, you need to isolate/get the variable "x" by itself in the equation:

-4.5 = 1.5 - x         Subtract 1.5 on both sides

-4.5 - 1.5 = 1.5 - 1.5 - x

-6 = -x     Divide -1 on both sides to get "x" by itself

\frac{-6}{-1} =\frac{-x}{-1}    [two negative signs cancel each other out and become positive]

6 = x         Your answer is D

You could have also done (without having to do division):

-4.5 = 1.5 - x       Add x on both sides to make x positive

-4.5 + x = 1.5 - x + x

-4.5 + x = 1.5    Add 4.5 on both sides

-4.5 + 4.5 + x = 1.5 + 4.5

x = 6

Point a is located at (0, 4) and point b is located at (−2, −3). find the x value for the point that is 1 over 4 the distance fr
stellarik [79]
For the answer to the question above, to solve these questions, use this formula: X3= F(X1-X2) Y3= F(Y1-Y2)
Where X3 is the X value in the coordinate your solving for, F is the fraction,
X1 is the first X and X
2 is the second X Plug in your numbers to fit this: X3= 1/4 x (0--2) Y3= 1/4 x (4- -3) By solving you get: (-.5, 1.75)

Mikayla designed a survey to determine the number of people expected at opening night of a community theater. The community has
ioda

The sample is based on the first 25 parents dropping off actors during theater rehearsal hence the sampling method is non random and biased.

A non random sample refers to a sampling method that is not based on chance alone. A biased sampling is one in which some members of the population are more likely to be selected thereby excluding the others.

Since the sample is based on the first 25 parents dropping off actors during theater rehearsal, the sampling method is  non random and biased.

Rewrite the equation y – 4x = –9 in slope-intercept form.
Vera_Pavlovna [14]
The answer to your question is A. Y= -4x-9 because is you look at the pre written equation it shows that 4x is negative and that 9 is negative too. Also, if you rewrite an equation you have to isolate Y. Therefore A is the correct answer
