Answer:

I believe the answer is A.

Explanation:

Peer pressure works when peers taunt you into doing something you know can be bad, idiotic, of even harmful. Learning how to say "No" can help you with pressuring. C. could be a possible answer, but refusal skills aren't only for beverage situations, so the best answer I believe is A.

What factors may contribute to aging?
Vladimir [108]

Answer:

The factor that contributes to aging is: A Cells stop dividing after 50 divisions.

Explanation:

 • Normally after 40 to 50 divisions the cells stops dividing because they had already lost too much DNA for other divisions.
 • So they eventually die, making the appearance like an aged person in any individual.
 • As DNA is copied in every cell division process, they tend to loose small part of telomeres in each transfer process.
 • Hence, after 50 divisions these cells fails to divide resulting in aging.

Which describes the health risks of binge eating disorder?
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

Excessive weight gain that results in diabetes and high blood pressure.

Explanation:

Binge Eating Disorder (BED) is a serious, life-threatening disorder which may lead to several metabolic diseases and complications like diabetes mellitus and hypertension. This should be immediately addressed by a psychiatrist in order to give intervention earlier to avoid development of chronic diseases.

According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - 5 (DSM-5) criteria for BED, it should have the following signs and symptoms

1. Recurrent binge eating episodes should be both characterized by the following,

"Eating, in a discrete period of time (e.g., within any 2-hour period), an amount of food that is definitely larger than what most people would eat in a similar period of time under similar circumstances," and

"A sense of lack of control over eating during the episode (e.g., a feeling that one cannot stop eating or control what or how much one is eating)."

2. It is then associated with any 3 of the following

"Eating much more rapidly than normal. "

"Eating until feeling uncomfortably full. "

"Eating large amounts of food when not feeling physically hungry. "

"Eating alone because of feeling embarrassed by how much one is eating. "

"Feeling disgusted with oneself, depressed, or very guilty afterward."

3. Marked distress regarding binge eating is present.

4. The binge eating occurs, on average, at least once a week for 3 months.

5. The binge eating is not associated with the recurrent use of inappropriate compensatory behaviors (e.g., purging) as in bulimia nervosa and does not occur exclusively during the course of bulimia nervosa or anorexia nervosa.

Which statements describe the endocrine system? Check all that apply.
Anarel [89]

The following statements describe the endocrine system:

1. It helps regulate mood- The endocrine system regulates the release of hormones and

neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin and cortisol in human bodies. These hormones and

neurotransmitters secreted by the endocrine system in turn affect our mood by

increasing or decreasing levels of happiness, rewarding seeking behavior, stress, etc.

2. It helps regulate reproductive processes- The endocrine system consists of reproductive glands in males and females. In females, the hormones estrogen and progesterone secreted by reproductive glands (ovaries) regulate menstrual cycles, egg fertilization and reproduction. Whereas, in males, reproductive glands (testes) regulate sex hormones, such as testosterone, sexual arousal and sperm count.

3. It helps regulate growth and development- The hormone known as human growth hormone (HGH) is released by the endocrine system. HGH is responsible for growth, an individual's height and development of the physical body, especially during childhood and up to early adulthood. HGH is also responsible for cell reproduction and regeneration in humans.

4. It secretes hormones into the bloodstream- The endocrine system functions primarily by releasing hormones in the bloodstream. The endocrine system consists of various glands around the body, that have their own respective functions. Each of these glands secrete different hormones in the bloodstream. The different glands that comprise the endocrine system in human bodies include: the hypothalamus (in the brain), pituitary glands, thyroid gland, parathyroids, adrenal glands, reproductive glands and pancreas.
