F(x)=x^2. What is g(x)

Mathematics

Answer:

C.) g(x) = \frac{1}{3} x^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = x^{2}

By looking at the graph you can see that the g(x) is a compression of f(x), thus f(x) needs to be multiplied by a fraction not a whole number

so d is out

It is also a vertical compression, because the x values are affected not the y

so a is out

Finally if you find points on graph f(x) and multiply it by either 1/3 or 1/9 try and see what points correlate to graph g(x).

for example when x = 2 on f(x) y = 4, but on g(x) it would either be 4/3 or 4/9 when it is at 2.

Looking at the graph you can see g(x) is at 4/3 at x=2, thus the answer would be 1/3

C.) g(x) = \frac{1}{3} x^{2}

Find the value of x in each figure
Angelina_Jolie [31]

Answer:

20...90°-46°

=44°

therefore 44÷4

=11

therefore x=11

21....90°-20°

=70°

70-15

=55

therefore x=55°

22...90°÷3

=30

THEREFORE X=30°

In what ways are inequalities like equations ?
solmaris [256]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Inequalities and equations are alike in that they both involve two sides of a sign (whether it is an equal sign or an inequality sign) being compared. For example, both y = x + 2 and y > x + 2 are just ways of comparing the values of x and y.
