The only correct sentence is sentence A.

Aunt Betsy somehow made it to her thirtieth birthday without changing a lightbulb; in fact, she didn't even know what one looked like.

A semi-colon is used appropriately to separate two independent clauses. The other sentences are not correct. You need to have a complete sentece before a colon, which is why sentence B is incorrect. In sentence C, the semi-colon should be a comma. Similarily, in sentence D, the semicolon should be a colon.

“What’s to be done? Break what must be broken..” What literary/rhetorical device is this?
Eva8 [605]

Hi, you've asked an incomplete question lacking options. I inferred you want to know the type of literary device or rhetoric used in the sentence.

Answer:

<u>Repetition, and Parallelism</u>

Explanation:

Repetition is a type of literary device that involves the use of a word or phrase several times (repeatedly) in a speech or sentence. While Parallelism involves the use of phrases with grammatical structure, which may create a  pattern or rhythm.

For example, in the above sentence, we can observe the repetition of the word, <em>"What"</em>, and<em> "be"</em>. And the sentence, <em>"Break what must be broken" </em> has a similar grammatical structure as the first sentence.

Zanzabum

The influence of Mahatma Gandhi be seen most clearly in King’s rhetoric in his focus on nonviolence.

focus on nonviolence

<u>Explanation:</u>

As a major aspect of his peaceful non-collaboration battle for home principle, Gandhi focused on the significance of financial autonomy for India. The two essential standards or beliefs that guided Gandhi's life were truth and peacefulness.

For him, the fact of the matter was God and understanding this reality as God was a definitive reason forever.

He elucidated the suggestion that fact could be acknowledged uniquely through peacefulness. Gandhi's four thoughts are truth, peacefulness, renunciation, self-rule which is generally significant for him.
