How would the ecosystem change if a prey animal was able to adapt a defense that was 100% effective against predators?

<span>The ecosystem would change drastically in some cases because the predators will no longer be able to hunt the prey. if the prey is the only food source then the predators will be forced to find another source or go extinct. In addition to that  if the prey population booms and has a effective defense, then it would start multiplying instantly without any fear  of the predators. </span>
