Answer:

describes a process by which sediment, usually sand, lost through longshore drift or erosion is replaced from other sources. A wider beach can reduce storm damage to coastal structures by dissipating energy across the surf zone, protecting upland structures and infrastructure from storm surges, tsunamis and unusually high tides.[citation needed] Beach nourishment is typically part of a larger coastal defense scheme. Nourishment is typically a repetitive process since it does not remove the physical forces that cause erosion but simply mitigates their effects.

Answer:

Compatibility issues, No exact volume calculation, high cost of construction etc

Explanation:

Beach nourishment is not a viable strategy to manage beach erosion because of the following reasons -

1. It is very difficult to exactly calculate or evaluate the amount of sand volume that is to be brought from nearby borrowing area

2. The cost of construction and maintenance is extremely high

3. Though it is one of the environment friendly method to cater sand beach losses, yet it disturbs the ecology by disturbing the native flora and fauna of the borrowing land

4. It also causes compatibility issue. The sand transported from other areas may have varying characteristics as compared to the sand in the areas where beach nourishment is to be done. This difference may cause higher level of erosion the next time.

Hey!

Back when I was finding a school I had the same problem! That reminds me of K12!

So what you do is label the areas L that have low pressure which is areas that are near sea level, kind of cold areas.

For H you label those near the center of the map. Which is more of the HOT areas.

It’s currently cold here, burrrr!!

I’ll provide a picture below.

Awesome seeing someone that went to the same online school!

Have a great day,
Eric

Note: you don’t need to label everywhere. If recommend using the map to guide you!

Reply if you have any further questions!!!!

4. A plant can have yellow (Y) or green (y) leaves. It can also have smooth (S) or rough (s) seeds.?
navik [9.2K]
A.) The phenotype is yellow, smooth

This is because (Y) yellow is dominant over (y) green. If an organism has a trait that is dominant, it will show up with no exceptions (YY, Yy, Ss, SS). Recessive traits on the other hand will only show up if both the maternal (Mom) and the paternal (Dad) copy given are both recessive (yy or ss).

b.) It depends on what the YySs plant is paired with. Will it be paired with another YySs, with YYSS, yyss, YySS, yySS, YYss...? For example, if it is paired with another YySs, make a punnett square.
