Why is the aplysia such a popular animal for single-cell studies of learning?
Feliz [49]

Aplysia is a marine gastropod mollusc which is an often used model organism in neuroscience, especially on the cellular biology of learning and memory. What makes them easy to work with are their giant neurons, which are one of the largest. Aplysia neurons are suitable for studies of how neurons and neural circuits control behaviours. Its defensive reflex has been studied because it is mediated by electrical synapses, which allow several neurons to fire synchronously.

Viruses that reproduce almost immediately after coming into contact with a host cell use which viral reproductive cycle?
Naddik [55]

The best answer is A.

The lytic cycle is considered the main cycle in viral replication. Once the viral DNA enters the cell, it transcribes itself into the host cell's messenger RNAs and uses them to direct the ribosomes.

The host cell's DNA is destroyed and the virus takes over the cell's metabolic activity and begins to use the cell's energy for its own propagation and within a short while, when the cell gets overcrowded with the viral progeny, the original virus releases enzymes to break the cell wall. The cell wall bursts. This process is called lysis. The new viruses are then released.

Why do X-linked traits appear more often in males
Tpy6a [65]
X - linked traits appear more often in males because males only have one x chromosome. One copy of an x - linked trait is all that a male would need to possess that trait. Females have two x chromosomes, so they would require 2 copies of the x - linked trait in order to possess it.
