The setting of hell is important in the Inferno because the organization of Hell into nine circles reflects Dante's belief in an orderly universe.

Inferno is the first part of Dante Alighieri's poem Divine Comedy. It is accompanied by Purgatorio and Paradiso. The Inferno depicts the journey of Dante through Hell, led by the classical Roman poet Virgil. In Inferno, Hell is illustrated as nine concentric rings of torment found within the Earth. It is the place for those who have denied religious values by allowing to brutal desires or disorder. The Divine Comedy describes the journey of the soul toward God, and the Inferno represents the acceptance and denial of sin.

Which of these following descriptions is most likely from the perspective of an unreliable narrator ?
erik [133]

Answer:

C. The cat scratched Amelia because it knows what I know - that Amelia wants my job.

Explanation:

This description is most likely from the perspective of an unreliable narrator. This is because we do not actually know what the cat knows or if it even understands human behaviors. Also, this narrator seems a little paranoid about the security of her job. These details make the narrator unreliable.

In the story The Case of the defaced painting
777dan777 [17]
Why is Mrs. Williams clearly the guilty party in the case?

She is married, though she is not wearing her wedding ring. Too, when the detective is questioning the painter and cleaning lady about the blue paint used to deface the painting, Mrs. Williams is seen biting the nails on her left hand—the hand where her wedding ring should be. It can be assumed that Mrs. Williams is not wearing her wedding because she got paint on it, and she is biting her nails to remove the evidence of the blue paint that may have been on and/or under her nails in order to remove the evidence the way she might have done by removing a potentially paint-stained wedding ring.

What motivated her to ruin the Wyeth painting?

Mrs. Williams is angry with her husband by the way her husband treats Mrs. Williams’ family—his in-laws. In order to get back at her husband, she for treating what she loves badly, she ruined something he loves—fine art.
