You can say: Just as I hope your arm heals quickly, I hope your sense of humor heals even faster. Or: I hope your arm heals quickly, and I hope your sense of humor heals even faster. (this way you can take out the issue altogether)

However, I don't think that just using "as" would be correct.....

1. Author Kristin Lewis writes, "Tutankhamen is a drop of water in the ocean of history. " This line contains _______.
Studentka2010 [4]

The line "Tutankhamen is a drop of water in the ocean of history" contains a type of figurative language called metaphor, as is further explained below.

What is metaphor?

 • Metaphor is a type of figurative language.
 • It is used to compare different things, people, etc.
 • Metaphor does NOT rely on the words "like" or "as" for the comparison.
 • It states that "thing A is thing B" rather than "thing A is like thing B."

With the information above in mind, we can identify the use of metaphor in the line by Lewis. She states that Tutankhamen is a drop of water in the ocean of history, comparing the young pharaoh to a single drop of water.

Her purpose with such a comparison is to show that, in terms of all history, Tutankhamen's story is quite small, maybe even insignificant.
