The USSR which was union of soviet socialist republic was formed in the year 1922. It was a union of the soviet republics which united Russia, Ukrainian, Belorussian and Transcaucasia. The government and the economy was highly centralized. It was governed by the communist party. All this also saw rapid industrialization and the period of growth and development.

But there were also a number of tragedies and disasters like there was great drought and famine in the period of 1932-33. This led to many dying without food and millions of deaths happened.
