Discuss the two main ideas—people are made right with God by faith alone, and selling indulgences is an abuse of church power.
zheka24 [161]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

You are asking to discuss the two statements.

1.- People are made right with God by faith alone.

This idea is contained in Romans 3:28.

The idea that is conveyed through Romans 3:28 is that one thing is the worship and obedience of God, and another thing is teh obedience of the law. One is divine, It is God's will. The other is from the Earth, the law that exists in every society.

So the focus of humans must be on God's will and do as his will. The law of men is important but it is not in the same category of divine law.

2.- Selling indulgences is an abuse of church power.

This is one of the most important critics Protestants made against the Catholic church.

Indeed it was one of the main claims Martin Luther refer to when he wrote his essay "95 Thesis," in which he accuses the pope of selling indulgences as one of the worst things of the Catholic church. Martin Luther was a German monk that initiated the Protestant movement that generated the schism in the Christian Church.

Niagra movement 1905
USPshnik [31]
The Niagara Movement was a civil-rights group founded in 1905 near Niagara Falls. Scholar and activist W. E. B. Du Bois gathered with supporters on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls to form an organization dedicated to social and political change for African Americans. Its list of demands included an end to segregation and discrimination in unions, the courts, and public accommodations, as well as equality of economic and educational opportunity. Although the Niagara Movement had little impact on legislative action, its ideals led to the formation of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 1909.

How would you best describe the factors contributing to the development of the political and social system of feudalism?
Brrunno [24]

Answer: Vikings, Muslims, and Magyars invaded Europe at a time of political weakness.

Explanation:

Feudalism refers to a system where the King or Queen was the absolute monarch and as a result owned all the land but could give it to Nobles who would then become rich and powerful.

This system was as a result of people needing such protection that they bounded around the Nobles to protect them when invasions from groups such as the Vikings, the Muslims and the Magyars threatened their security in a way the monarchs could not effectively protect them.
