f = first side

s = second side

t = third side

(f) + (2f) + (2f + 2) = 32

f = 6

first side is 6

second side is 12

third side is 14

Can someone help me with this system of equations
Trava [24]
Y = \frac{1}{2}x + 3
y = x - 4

Since both equations are equal to y, you can set the two values equal to each other and solve for x.

\frac{1}{2}x + 3 = x - 4   Multiply both sides by 2
x + 6 = 2x - 8   Add x to both sides
6 = 3x - 8   Add 8 to both sides
14 = 3x   DIvide both sides by 3
4\frac{2}{3} = x

Now, plug the x value into one of the original equations, I'll plug it into y = x - 4.

y = x - 4   Plug in the x value
y = 4\frac{2}{3} - 4   Subtract
y = \frac{2}{3}

x = 4\frac{2}{3} and y = \frac{2}{3}

<h3>Answer:   addition property of inequality</h3>

================================================

Explanation:

These are the steps to focus on

step 3: -6x - 8 < -2

step 4: -6x < 6

The move from the third step to the fourth step has us adding 8 to both sides. Therefore, we use the addition property of inequality.

That property has four forms

  1. If a > b then a + c > b+c
  2. If a < b then a+c < b+c
  3. If a \ge b then a + c \ge b+c
  4. If a \le b then a+c \le b+c

It's similar to the idea of starting with a = b, then adding c to both sides to get a+c = b+c

We add the same thing to both sides to keep things balanced.

leva [86]
For this you would do 4000 x 0.2 which equals 800.

800 acres were not plowed.

Thanks :)
