The three questions that you should always ask yourself when determining the reliability of a source are:
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

The sentence is correct.

Explanation:

In the academic world it is important to have explanations and results that are objectively taken out from reality by instruments and logical structures that follow the criteria of science. This is why there is a community of scientist that evaluate papers and books in order to examine if the authors are being serious and professional about their research.

But, not all people get the information straight from the academic literature, but from sites in the internet or outreach magazines that are meant to make science easy to understand but that are not always reliable for they sometimes invent explanations or teach theories and concepts wrongly.

For that reason it is important to make sure that when you are reading something you ask the next three questions:

1) Who wrote it? Who is the author? Is the author a scientist?

When the author signs his or her work means that he can be traceable, and also that you can get to know which academic institution supports his or her research, which allow to recognize if the author and institution follow the rules of science (without looking at the content yet).

2) What type of site is it? Is the site intended to be based on science and truth?

When you enter a site in the internet or see and article in a magazine, you have to acknowledge the intention of the whole brand, in order to know if they based their words on science or if they have some tendency, or even if they just publish things that sound interesting but are not proven.

3) How current is the information? Is the information from the last 5 years?

Once you chose the publication you are interested in reading or watching, you have to know the time in which it was written, in order to know if it is an actual founding or if it is an historical publication. Some things in science change quite fast, therefore it is important to know if the information you are reading is current.

Knowing these three things will allow you to know if a publication is reliable even when you haven't read it yet. Therefore the sentence it is correct.

In line 6, Annie says she “just escaped the whitewashed, brick-walled, iron-gated prison that is commonly known as middle school
trasher [3.6K]

Answer:

A. Critical

Explanation:

Annie uses the words "iron-gated prison" to describe the middle school. Obviously, middle schools are not literally prisons, but when described as prisons, one can believe that Annie truly felt as if the institution limited her freedom and kept her "chained" to schoolwork.

With this kind of attitude toward school, it would only be natural for the answer to have something to do with dislike.

B) Annie doesn't feel hesitant (which means cautious) because she clearly expresses her thoughts very bluntly.

C) She is definitely not regretful because she's glad to have "escaped" from the school.

D) If Annie is not regretful, then she cannot be devastated (which, in this scenario, is basically just a more extreme version of regretful).

Thus, the answer is A (critical) because she's very keen on pointing out the negative aspects of the school.

Hope this helps!
