This statement is largely true.

A mineral is defined as a solid, inorganic naturally occurring substance with a distinct chemical formula and general structure. On the crust of the earth, almost all chemical elements found there are associated with at least one mineral.

Each mineral has its own distinct properties. Rarely does one find two minerals sharing the same properties.

Minerals vary in hardness, density, color, crystal form, crystal  size , transparency and composition.

Some are magnetic e.g. magnetite, while others are radioactive such as uranophane.

Others such as gold are uncombined elements.

How many moles of zinc are needed to react with 45.60 moles of nitric acid?
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

11.4 moles

Explanation:

Your chemical equation for the reaction of zinc and nitric acid will be

Zn  +  4 HNO₃  -->  Zn(NO₃)₂  +  2 NO₂  +  2 H₂O

To solve the problem, you need to use stoichiometry.  For every 1 mole of zinc, you will need 4 moles of nitric acid.  Divide 45.60 by 4.  Your answer should be 11.4 moles.

Ultraviolet light A (UVA) can penetrate deeper layers of skin than UVB. If UVA has a wavelength of 400 nm, how much energy would
Evgen [1.6K]

Answer:

E = 5×10⁻¹⁹ J

Explanation:

Given data:

Wavelength = 400 nm (400×10⁻⁹ m)

Energy of wave = ?

Solution:

Formula:

E = h c/λ

c = 3×10⁸ m/s

h = 6.63×10⁻³⁴ Js

Now we will put the values in formula.

E = 6.63×10⁻³⁴ Js × 3×10⁸ m/s /400×10⁻⁹ m

E = 19.89×10⁻²⁶ J.m / 400×10⁻⁹ m

E = 0.05×10⁻¹⁷ J

E = 5×10⁻¹⁹ J
