A student is writing an editorial and wants to revise the draft. Read the two paragraphs from the student's article and answer t

he question that follows.
The 2014 opening of the Writing Center was an enormous benefit to students at our high school. Any skepticism about the project was quelled within weeks, as workshops and open tutoring hours quickly filled up. While only anecdotal evidence is available, faculty in the English department credit the center with improved student planning, writing, and editing.

The proposed Mathematics Center would have similar offerings: drop-in hours for one-on-one tutoring, workshops, and a multi-media resource library, as well as space for study groups and group work. The benefits of such a program seem obvious, and the administration has not fully explained its reasons for delaying a decision. Students and faculty have a right to know.

Which sentence would provide the BEST transition between the two paragraphs?
-Students say that having a space to work together and focus on a single subject greatly aids understanding of the content.
-Given the success of the Writing Center, it is curious to me that the proposal for a similar Mathematics Center has had such a lukewarm reception.
-Research studies have shown that creating content-area-focused environments reaps huge rewards in terms of students' academic gains.
-A group of students and their faculty sponsors have proposed the establishment of a Mathematics Center that would be open to all students at the high school.

Answer:

option B. Given the success of the Writing Center, it is curious to me that the proposal for a similar Mathematics Center has had such a lukewarm reception.

Explanation:

From the two paragraphs of the student's article given, it shows that the administration gives regards to the Writing Center because of its success but has failed to see that the proposed Mathematics Center will also be beneficial to the students as well.

The first paragraph states how the administration received the Writing Center which has an enormous benefit to students at the high school. It also states how the faculty in the English department credit the Writing Center with improved student planning and writing.

The second paragraph of the article, however, shows how the administration received the proposed Mathematics Center. The proposed Mathematics Center which would have a similar benefit and impact on students learning was received with an indifferent and uninterested approach by the administration, that is, the administration seems not interested in the proposal.

Answer:

The little girl in the story was the wisest character because of the kindness she showed to the Chenoo.

Explanation:

When the three brothers noticed the footprints in the North, South, and West, they disregarded it as the footprint of a bear. The girl in the story, however, believed that it was the Chenoo and she made provisions for it. She made a fire for it and prepared a meal for the Chenoo.

The monster was surprised at the welcome given by the little girl. This calmed him down and prevented him from attacking the girl and her brothers.
