Gregor's physical transformation makes him isolated from the outside world and also from his family. He is a loner after turning into an insect. In the begining of the novel Gregor wants to quit his job because he didn't like it, but his family is against it. And when he turns into an insect, he is free from this job, but also he falls to victim to his loneliness. Gregor is worthless for his family because he cannot provide for them now. Kafka shows the degradation of a human being for misunderstanding and insecurity. The correct answer is A.

Night gives a firsthand record of the holocaust, which is told from memories of E. Wiesel. Throughout the story, details of losing family members, harsh living conditons, and massive loss of life all show a smaller piece of the whole theme of WWII; It was a very bloody war in which there was no true winner. Battles left cities reduced to rubble, and both sides (each individual country) faced severe casualties. Even though Elie survived, he lost everything he loved in the process, like so many others from many different countries.
