<span>"Revenues to the treasury increased substantially. Unemployment also continued to fall. Libertarian historian Thomas Woods contends that the tax cuts ended the Depression of 1920–1921 and were responsible for creating a decade-long expansion.Historians Schweikart and Allen attribute these changes to the tax cuts. Schweikart and Allen also argue that Harding's tax and economic policies in part "... produced the most vibrant eight year burst of manufacturing and innovation in the nation's history." The combined declines in unemployment and inflation (later known as the Misery Index) were among the sharpest in U.S. history. Wages, profits, and productivity all made substantial gains during the 1920s."</span>

Answer:

1. It was wise to seek a return to normalcy after World War I. A return to normalcy was United States presidential candidate Warren G. Harding’s campaign promise during the elections of 1920. He wanted to return to Republican domination of the Oval Office and avoiding foreign problems. I believe that it was a wise decision and it also allowed for Harding to win the election because people liked his plan. Harding and Coolidge's policies had mostly a positive impact on American society during the 1920s because American business was booming. The higher tariffs on imports encouraged Americans to get American goods. The middle class rose allowing them to be able to purchase more goods.

2.  I think the growth of advertising in America had a positive and negative impact on society, but more of a positive one. With more advertising, people could better find their needs. They could also know where to go for them. It influenced competition between businesses to be the better provider and have their store be known. It influences the choices made in the economy, because many choices are based on brand-names, the environment, and the choices of the three essential questions to business.
