Answer:

During the water cycle, the water on the earth's surface gets evaporated leaving the impurities behind and enters into the atmosphere as water vapor. Thus, the water cycle removes pollutants from earth’s water.

Explanation:

Water cycle is the continuous movement of water on the earth's surface and the atmosphere. Some of the water from the oceans, lakes, rivers etc gets evaporated by sunlight and enters into the atmosphere as water vapor. Also from the processes like sublimation (ice and snow) and evapotranspiration (plants), water vapor reaches the atmosphere. This vapor is then condensed into clouds and later falls back from the sky on to the earth's surface as precipitations like rain, snow etc. During the evaporation, the pollutants (impurities) in the water sources are left behind. Thus, the water cycle removes pollutants from earth’s water.

What type of mutation is shown in the picture provided?
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer:

Hello!

The answer is C) substitution

Explanation:

Substitution:

A kind of mutation that involves the substitution of a single nucleotide by another, without changing the frame of reference of the DNA sequence. In this particular example, the thymine in the codon GAG (codes for glutamic acid) is being substituted by the base adenine, leaving the codon GTG (codes for the amino acid, valine).

The described substitution occurs in the case of the disease, sickle cell anemia that yields abnormal heamoglobin.

  • A) A deletion removes a base from the DNA sequence. This alters the frame of reference of the mRNA.
  • B) An insertion involves the addition of a base into the DNA sequence.
  • D) A silent mutation substitutes a base in such as way that the new codon codes for the same amino acid, conserving the function and structure of the protein; therefore, silent mutations are harmless.

explain how the understanding of atomic emission spectrum led to the development of the atomic theory
Ivahew [28]

Using hydrogen in his experiments Bohr showed that an electron spins around the atom nuclei at a specific/discrete radii (orbital levels). Electrons at every orbital level spin at a discrete angular momentum and energy. When the electron moves one orbital level down, it releases a photon of energy specific to the jump (that is, of a particular spectrum that is unique to the atom). When the electron goes up an orbital level, energy (of a specific spectrum) is absorbed. This emission and absorption spectrum varies across atoms and is calculated as (delta)E = hf where;

E = energy

h = Planck's constant

f = frequency
