Answer: form and height

Explanation: Cloud consists of billions of little water droplets and/or ice crystals. Clouds are grouped on the basis of two criteria according to Luke Howard's system which are form and height. Form has three groups and height has three groups as well

In terms of form or shapes, Cirrus clouds are high, white, and thin. Cumulus clouds are globular, usually with a flat base while Stratus have several layers covering most of the sky. In terms of height, low clouds form nearest to the earth's surface up to about 2000meters and are generally made up of water droplets; middle clouds form between 2000-6000meters and may be made up of water droplets or ice crystals depending on the time of year; high clouds form above 6000meters and are generally made up of ice crystals with their temperature below freezing.

What is remote sensing? Describe the three remote sensing tools that geographers can use.
n200080 [17]

Answer:

Remote sensing is the process of detecting and monitoring the physical characteristics of an area by measuring its reflected and emitted radiation at a distance (typically from satellite or aircraft). Special cameras collect remotely sensed images, which help researchers "sense" things about the Earth.

Here are some of the common sensor technologies:

Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR)

Sound navigation ranging (Sonar)

Radiometers and spectrometers

We use Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) and Sonar are ideal for building topographic models. But the main difference between the two is “where”. While LiDAR is best suited for the ground, Sonar works better underwater.

By using these technologies, we build digital elevation models. Using these topographic models, we can predict flooding risk, archaeological sites, and delineating watersheds (to name a few).

GLOBAL ISSUES

As the world becomes more globalized, we are just starting to see the proliferation of remote sensing. For example, satellites tackle issues including:

Navigating with global positioning systems

Climate change monitoring

Arctic surveillance

Satellite information is fundamentally important if we are going to solve some of the major challenges of our time. All things considered, it’s an expanding field reaching new heights.

For issues like climate change, natural resources, disaster management, and the environment, remote sensing provides a wealth of information on a global scale.

Under truth-in-sentencing laws what percentage of the sentence must be served by the offender
natita [175]

Truth-in-sentencing laws aim to preserve the time sentence set for criminals at the time of their conviction. Advocates of these policies argue that when an individual is sentenced for 5 to 7 years and ends up getting released after serving 3 or 4, it constitutes deception and <u>a disservice to "the public's right to know"</u>.

Since 1994 in the U.S., the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act started giving out additional funding as an incentive to states that <u>ensure criminals convicted of violent crimes serve </u><u>at least 85% of their sentence</u><u>. Up until 2008, 35 of the 50 states have kept up these standards.</u>

Hope this helps!
