Well, the total amount of books is all fiction books and nonfiction books, let's say is "x", total

now, the fiction books are 2:7 or 2/7 to nonfiction

so, if we divide the total "x" by 2+7, or 9, 2 of those quotients go to fiction and 7 of those go to nonfiction

if we divide "x" by 9, a "whole" is 9/9 or (9/9)x or 1x or just "x"

and we know 7 of those 9ths belong to nonfiction, thus

\bf \begin{array}{clclclll}
\cfrac{2}{9}&+&\cfrac{7}{9}&=&\cfrac{9}{9}\\
\uparrow &&\uparrow &&\uparrow \\
fiction&&nonfiction&&whole
\end{array}\\\\
-----------------------------\\\\
\cfrac{nonfiction}{whole}\implies \cfrac{7}{9}\implies 7:9\impliedby ratio

You need to buy 12 tickets to a weekend concert festival but have two options for where to purchase them. Concert Specialties se
AURORKA [14]

Answer:

Concert Specialties is the better buy

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to determine which of the two deals is the better buy, we first need to find out how many of each pack we would need to get the needed 12 tickets. Once we have this value we multiply it by the dollar amount of each pack and compare the totals like so...

Concert Specialties => pack of 3 * 4 = 12 tickets => 4 * 75 = $300

We 'R' Entertainment => pack of 4 * 3 = 12 tickets => 3 * 108 = $324

Therefore, we can now see that the Concert Specialties is the better buy since you are getting the 12 tickets for $24 less than We 'R' Entertainment
