A substance that provides nourishment essential for the maintenance of life and for growth.

If you do not gain enough nutrients, a nutritional deficiency occurs (when the body doesn't absorb or get from food the necessary amount of a nutrient). Deficiencies can lead to a variety of health problems. These can include digestion problems, skin disorders, stunted or defective bone growth, and even dementia.

Give two reasonsthat may account for the continuous firing of a
PostsynapticNeuron.
lyudmila [28]

Answer:

1.Continuous diffusion of negatively charged ions into the postsynaptic neurons , which leads to continuous reversal of charges (hyperpolarization) and therefore continuous firing of action potential

2. Inhibition of hydrolytic enzymes e.g (acetycholinesterase) that metabolize activities of cholinergic neurotransmitters e,g acetycholine at post synaptic cleft. leading to firing of action potential.

Explanation:

Neuron whose dendrites transmits action potential to the neuromuscular junction is called presynaptic neuron. While neuron that transmit action potential away from the neuronal synaptic junction, or from the neuromuscular junction to the cell body of adjacent neuron or to effectors (gland and muscles) are called post synaptic neuron.

The more negatively charged ions that diffused into the post synsptic neuron, the more depolarization, and the greater the frequency of action potential produced

The inhibition of activities of hydrolytic enzyme which metabolize cholinergic neurotransmitter leads to continuous excitatory activities of cholinergic neurotransmitters on the receptors at the postsynaptic neuron, and the more action potential

Describe how a new mRNA transcript is processed before it leaves the nucleus.
Schach [20]

Answer:

removal of introns, addition of 5' cap and 3' tail to mRNA.

Explanation:

The mRNA is processed before it leaves nucleus. The introns are removed and exons are remain in mRNA. This process is called splicing. The 5' end is attached with a cap and 3' is attached with a polyadenylated tail. Thus mRNA is processed with these process before it leaves the nucleus.

How does biomass in a community change as succession proceeds?
fenix001 [56]

A

It increases because the biodiversity of the community in the environment during succession increases.

Explanation:

During primary succession, the nutrients in the rocks are gradually released as pioneer plants help break up the rocks into soil. These nutrients are taken up and more species of plants are able to thrive in the environment including the perennial and biennial plants. These plants provide food and shelter for higher organisms (hence many longer food webs and chains) and this is why biodiversity increases with increased succession until the climax community is reached. Increased biodiversity means increased biomass.
