The answer to your question would be A. replace y with 9. why?? well here is how you would solve this problem
  1.    5+4y   when y=9 (first plug 9 into the y's spot)
  2.    5+4(9)    then multiply 4 times 9 (that's what 4(9) means)
  3.    5+36      then add
  4.   41

the answer to the equation is 41 but the answer to your problem is A.

Id say its between a and c. your best bet would be a since you have to plug in 9 for y.

Which of the following is a perfect square trinomial?
shutvik [7]

Answer:

A.

Step-by-step explanation:

Take a look at what happens when squaring either of these...

(ax-by)^2=(ax-by)(ax-by)=a^2x^2-2abxy+b^2y^2\\\\(ax+by)^2=(ax+by)(ax+by)=a^2x^2+2abxy+b^2y^2\\

Notice a couple of patterns.

1.  The last term has a positive coefficient.  That rules out answer choices C and D.

2.  The coefficient of the middle term is either +2ab \text{ or } -2ab .  So what are <em>a</em>  and <em>b</em>?  <em>a</em> is the square root of the x^2 term and <em>b</em> is the square root of the y^2 term.

25x^2 \Rightarrow a=5\\\\9y^2 \Rightarrow b=3\\\\ab=15\\\\2ab=30

The middle coefficient needs to be either +30 or -30.  The answer is choice A.

Carly buys a gold ring priced at $273.00 if the sale tax is 10 % , how much will carly pay
Damm [24]

Hello!

<h2>Answer:</h2>

Carla will pay $300.30 for the gold ring.

<h2>Explanation:</h2>

Sales tax is added on to the total cost of the item. We need to figure out how much tax is on the ring.

To do that, we must calculate 10% (or 0.10) of $273.00.

273 × 0.10 = 27.3

Now, add the tax to the cost of the ring.

273 + 27.3 = 300.3

Eddie took out a 14-year loan for $72,000 at an APR of 4.7%, compounded monthly, while Lee took out a 14-year loan for $92,000 a
marishachu [46]
**Eddie: $72000/(14yr*12mo)=428.6$/mo+428.6$*(4.7%)/100%
Eddie pays 428.6$/mo+20.14$/mo. If he pays off his loan 6 years earlier he would save: $20.14*6yr*12mo= $1450.08
**Lee: $92000/(14yr*12mo)=547.62$/mo+547.62$*(4.7%)/100%
Lee pays 547.62$/mo+25.74$/mo. If he pays off his loan 6 years earlier he would save: $25.74*6yr*12mo=$1853.28

So its A. <span>Lee would save more, since he has $20,000 more in principal.</span>
