Note that it starts at 200 degrees celsius. Every year, it goes up 4%, or 0.04

We are solving for next year, so multiply 0.04 to 200 once:

200 x 0.04 = 8

The temperature goes up by 8 degrees every year. Add 8 to the original amount, 200

200 + 8 = 208

208° C is your answer

hope this helps

anzhelika [568]
I think the answer to this is
20 T-Shirts
This is because is you add 2 to 3 it would be 5 then you would multiply 5 by 4 because it “ Tina bought one-fourth of the number of T-Shirts Maria bought with in the end result would get you the answer 20. Anyway that is how I solve problems like these you could have a different method though.

4-13 Students in a management science class have just re- ceived their grades on the first test. The instructor has provided inf
inessss [21]

Answer:

a) y = 0.74x + 18.99; b) 80; c) r = 0.92, r² = 0.85; r² tells us that 85% of the variance in the dependent variable, the final average, is predictable from the independent variable, the first test score.

Step-by-step explanation:

For part a,

We first plot the data using a graphing calculator.  We then run a linear regression on the data.

In the form y = ax + b, we get an a value that rounds to 0.74 and a b value that rounds to 18.99.  This gives us the equation

y = 0.74x + 18.99.

For part b,

To find the final average of a student who made an 83 on the first test, we substitute 83 in place of x in our regression equation:

y = 0.74(83) + 18.99

y = 61.42 + 18.99 = 80.41

Rounded to the nearest percent, this is 80.

For part c,

The value of r is 0.92.  This tells us that the line is a 92% fit for the data.

The value of r² is 0.85.  This is the coefficient of determination; it tells us how much of the dependent variable can be predicted from the independent variable.

The first gardener can finish the job in 6 hours, and the second gardener can do the same job in 7 hours. How long it will take
marissa [1.9K]

If the first gardener can finish the job in 6 hours, it means that every hour he completes 1/6 of the job.

By the same logic, the second gardener completes 1/7 of the job per hour.

So, if they work together, they complete

\dfrac{1}{6}+\dfrac{1}{7}=\dfrac{7+6}{42}=\dfrac{13}{42}

of the job per hour.

So, after 42/13 of a hour, they'll complete the job. Since one hour is made of 60 minutes, 42/13 of a hour is

\dfrac{42}{13}\cdot 60 \approx 194

So, it will take them about 194 minutes to finish the job, i.e. about 3 hours and 14 minutes.
