Mekhanik [1.2K]

Answer:

0.485 lb

6.83 lb - 3.57 lb = 3.26 lb

3.26 lb - 0.35 lb = 2.91 lb

2.91 lb / 6 = 0.485 lb

How can the x-intercept and y-intercept be used to graph a linear equation
JulijaS [17]
Because a line always goes past the y-intercept and x-intercept. It's not always both, it can sometimes just be the x-intercept or the y-intercept.

When a line intersects these points, for example if a line was to intersect the x-axis then y would be equal to 0, and the opposite for the y-axis. If a line was to intersect the y-axis x would be equal to 0.

Therefore by using that knowledge, and the equation of the line [ y=mx+c or y-y1=m(x-x1) ], we can find the equation of our line. Of course you would need the gradient of that line (the value "m").

BlackZzzverrR [31]

Answer:

C. x + 9 = 11

Step-by-step explanation:

We are trying to identify which of the equations does not match with the others. In this case, solve for x in each equation:

Option A):

6 + x = 9

Subtract 6 from both sides:

6 (-6) + x = 9 (-6)

x = 9 - 6

x = 3

Option B):

15 = x + 12

Subtract 12 from both sides:

15 (-12) = x + 12 (-12)

15 - 12 =  x

x = 3

Option C):

x + 9 = 11

Subtract 9 from both sides:

x + 9 (-9) = 11 (-9)

x = 11 - 9

x = 2

Option D):

7 + x = 10

Subtract 7 from both sides:

x + 7 (-7) = 10 (-7)

x = 10 - 7

x = 3

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you can tell, all the equations end with x = 3 as there answers except C. x+9=11, making (C) your answer.
