if you have a percent put that number OVER 100 because there is for example 72% out of 100% it does not matter if it says a number over 100 still put it over 100. Now you look for the word is or of. In this question you see is and it is close to 486. Since 72 has the percent sign it is not the is or of. Now we plug it in. Since 486 is, "is" You put 486 for a numerator because is/of. we are figuring out the of so we put a variable for the of. Now you have 486/x and 72/100 now cross multiply. Your equation is 72x=48600 and now divide 72 by 48600 and get x=675.
