The apartheid called the attention of the of the international community last 1960s by witnessing the ill-treatment of the police to black protesters in Sharp Ville town. This led the United Nations call for the sanction against the South African Government but was unsuccessful.  However, local African movements continued fighting for Anti-Apartheid and in the 1970s had been successful to gain social, culture and economic sanctions. In 1980s marked the end of Apartheid when the Comprehensive Anti-Apartheid Act was finally released last 1986.
