The correct answers are A) stopping the New York Draft riots, D) suspending habeas corpus, and F) arresting Southern sympathizers.

The three of Lincoln's controversial actions during his presidency were the following: Stopping the New York Draft riots, D) suspending habeas corpus, and F) arresting Southern sympathizers.

New York riots were protests in New York from July 13 to 16, 1863, du to the new laws passed by Congress to draft people to be part of the Union Army in the Civil War. The problem was that the protests became race riots where black people and whites confronted and violently attacked each other.

Another controversial action was that President Lincoln suspended the Habeas Corpus because he had the power to do the Constitution. During wartime, he had the faculty to suspend it. That allowed him to arrest many people suspected of being supporters of the Confederate Army.

Discuss at least two reasons why British Prime Minister Chamberlain wanted to avoid using force to challenge Hitler's violation
Sholpan [36]

Answer:

There are accounts that British Prime Minister Chamberlain sought to appease Hitler because he just didn't want Britain involved in a war at that time. Others also argue that Chamberlain was naive and gullible. OR Chamberlain hoped to look Hitler in the eyes, get a sense of his true intentions, and measure Hitler’s capacity to be reasoned with. This was considered a daring move in the effort to avoid a world war, mostly because of how few diplomats had ever done such a thing.
