Answer:240 strands of dough

Step-by-step explanation:

You make a loaf of challah bread by braiding 6 strands of dough together. This means

1 loaf of challah bread requires braiding 6 strands of dough together. This is the unit rate for making challah bread.

The number of loaves of bread you can make with 40 strands of dough will be

1 loaf of challah bread requires braiding 6 strands of dough

x loaves of challah bread will require braiding 40 strands of dough

x = 40 × 6 = 240 strands of dough

Solve the system by substitution 3x+y=-16 and y=-x-4
kap26 [50]

Solution,

y = -x-4......(i)

3x + y =- 16.......(ii)

Now,

Substituting the value of y in equation (ii)

or, 3x + (-x-4)= -16

or,3x - x - 4 = -16

or, 2x= -16 +4

or, x = -12/2

: x = -6

Then,

Substituting the value of x in (i) equation;

or,y= -(-6) - 4

or,y= 6 - 4

: y =2

For each example below, determine whether a posit tive, negative or no cause and effect relationship exists
alexira [117]
This is perhaps the most odd math question I have ever come across. Anyhow -

#1 - Positive, because smoking increases the chance of having lung cancer. (though technically there is not a linear relationship between the two as people do in fact receive lung cancer even when having not smoked)

#2 - No relationship. (Though one could argue a student may text more when given more free time as a consequence of having spent less time at school, but this is wholly subjective and unable to be substantiated by logic.)

#3 - Negative, due to the mass of the tootsie pop decreasing with each lick.

Of course, I am assuming when you say "positive" and "negative" you are speaking in terms of numbers or addition and subtraction rather than "positive" or "negative" socially.
