The westbound train travels at 55 miles per hour. The eastbound train travels at 75 miles per hour.

Let t be the time taken by the trains

Distance = speed * time

Distance covered by westbound train D = 55 * t

Distance covered by eastbound train D = 75 * t

the two trains are 364 miles apart

So we add the distance and set it equal to 364

364 = 55t + 75t

364 = 130 t

Divide by 130 from both sides

t = 2.8 hours

it will take 2.8 hours for the two trains to be 364 miles apart
