Mrna,amino acids,type of mutation

Biology
1 answer:
Leya [2.2K]3 years ago

Answer:

mRNA: 3' AUG-AAU-GCU-GCC-GGU-GA-5'

amino acids : methionine, asparagine, alanine, arginine, proline

type of mutation: deletion, missense

Explanation:

The mRNA sequence is complementary to the DNA sequence. A always pairs with T, C always pairs with G. Except this is an RNA sequence not a DNA sequence, so T is replaced with U.

The mRNA sequence is translated into an amino acid sequence based on the triplet code. The triplet code for this sequence is shown in the attached picture. Each triplet signifies a specific amino acid. The codon can be identified from the table and placed in sequence. We can see that the new DNA strand has caused a new amino acid sequence. It has also left us with an incomplete sequence, as GA cannot signify an amino acid.

The type of mutation is a single base deletion. We can see that the base C is missing from the 9th amino acid in the original strand. As you can see, this has an ongoing affect on all the bases in the rest of the sequence, as it changes the way the sequence is organised into codons. This results in a missense mutation.

Cellular differentiation progressively restricts cell fate because the unexpressed genes in the cell:Select all that apply becom
docker41 [41]

Answer:

undergo irreversible repression

Explanation:

Cellular differentiation refers to the process by which one cell and/or cell population divides and differentiates into more specialized cells. During cell fate differentiation, epigenetic marks modify chromatin structure in order to hamper the accessibility of the transcriptional machinery and transcriptional factors to different genes, which are irreversibly repressed. These epigenetic marks include DNA methylation and histone modifications (e.g., histone acetylation, histone methylation, etc). For example, it has been shown that DNA methylation and histone H3 lysine 27 tri‐methylation (H3K27me3) are epigenetic repressive marks on genomic regions that play a major role in gene expression programs during cell fate differentiation.

If two traits among flowers, dwarfism and stem color, were on the same pair of chromosomes, would you expect an F2 generation of
sammy [17]

Answer:

Yes, there will still be a chance for the F2 generation to have a ratio 9:3:3:1

Explanation:

According to Mendel's law of segregation, alleles of a gene pair separate at the time of game formation.

According to the Law of independence, the alleles sort independently into the gametes.

Even if the two traits under study are located on the same chromosome, they will segregate and assort independently at the time of gamete formation.

Also, at the time of meiosis, one of the alleles will arise from each parent hence there will still be a chance for the F2 generation to have a 9:3:3:1 ratio.

Dominik [7]

Food and nutrition are fundamental to military capability. Historical examples demonstrate that a failure to supply adequate nutrition to armies inevitably leads to disaster; however, innovative measures to overcome difficulties in feeding reap benefits, and save lives. In barracks, UK Armed Forces are currently fed according to the relatively new Pay As You Dine policy, which has attracted criticism from some quarters. The recently introduced Multi-Climate Ration has been developed specifically to deal with issues arising from Iraq and the current conflict in Afghanistan.Answer:
