<u>Answer-</u>

The vector function that represents the curve of intersection of the given paraboloid and cylinder is,

                          \vec{r}=

<u>Solution-</u>

Here we have to calculate the vector function represents the curve of intersection of the paraboloid '' z = 8x²+3y² '' and the cylinder " y=5x² "

All are in rectangular form and we have to convert them into parametric form.

Let \ x =t,

putting it in the equation of the cylinder equation we can get the value of y, so

y = 5x^2 = 5t^2

Now, we have the values of x and y in parametric form. Putting the values of x and y in the paraboloid equation, we can get the value of z, so

z = 8x^2+3y^2= 8t^2+3(5t^2)^2 = 8t^2+75t^4

∴ Vector function that represents the curve of intersection is,

                          \vec{r}=

Write in slope-intercept form the equation of the line passing through the given point and perpendicular to the given line.
Ksivusya [100]

Answer:

y = x + 1

Step-by-step explanation:

First you find the slope of the first line using the rise over run method. Here you can see that the line goes up 1 and to the right one in order to reach the next point making the slope 1x or just x. Then you need to make it so that the line intercepts the point by changing the y intercept to 1 making the equation y = x + 1.

I hope this helped!!

Can someone help me. <br><br><br> Which equation represents the data in the table?
nydimaria [60]

Answer:

D) t=4d+5

Step-by-step explanation:

If d=1,

t=4\times 1+5\\t=9

If d=2,

t=4\times2+5\\=8+5\\=13

If d=4,

t=4\times4+5\\=16+5\\=21

Therefore,

t=4d+5

What us the midpoint of A(-8,2) and B(4,-2)
marusya05 [52]

Answer:

(-2 , 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

A(-8 , 2) = (x1 , y1)

B(4 , -2) = (x2 , y2)

midpoint = (x1 + x2/2  ,   y1 + y2/2)

=(-8 + 4/2  ,  2-(-2)/2)

=(-4/2  ,  2+2/2)

(-2  ,  2)

(3 , 7) = (x1 , y1)

(9 , 2) = (x2 , y2)

distance of PQ = \sqrt{(x2 - x1)^2 + (y2 - y1)^2}

=\sqrt{(9 - 3)^2 + (2 - 7)^2}

=\sqrt{(6)^2 + (-5)^2}

=\sqrt{36 + 25}

=\sqrt{61}

=7.8 unit

The table shows various values of a linear function f (x).
mojhsa [17]

The value of  f –1(13) is 4

<h3>How to determine the inverse value?</h3>

The table of values is given as:

x –4 0 2 5 9 13

f (x) –11 1 7 16 28 40

A linear function is represented as:

y = mx + b

Where b represents the y-intercept and m represents the slope

From the graph, when x = 0, y = 1.

This means that b = 1

So, we have

y = mx + 1

Also from the graph, when x = 2, y = 7.

So, we have:

7 = 2m + 1

Subtract 1 from both sides

7 - 1 = 2m + 1 - 1

Evaluate the difference

6 = 2m

Rewrite the above equation as:

2m = 6

Divide both sides of the equation by 2

m = 3

Substitute m = 3 in y = mx + 1

y = 3x + 1

The notation  f –1(13) implies that y = 13

So, we have

13 = 3x + 1

Subtract by 1

3x = 12

Divide by 3

x = 4

Hence, the value of  f –1(13) is 4
