Answer:

largest area that can be enclosed = 8,000,000 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Since it is a rectangle plot, the area is expressed as; A = xy, where x is length and y is width.

Because it is next to the river, he only needs to fence three sides, so amount of fencing; F = x + 2y.

Since we know the amount of fencing available is 8000m, we get:

8000 = x + 2y

solving for x, we have;

x = 8000 - 2y

substitute 8000 - 2y for x into the area equation to give;

A = (8000 - 2y)y distribute

A = -2y² + 8000y

Now, due to the negative sign next to 2, this will be a parabola which opens down, meaning that the point of maximum area will be at the vertex,

Thus; y = -b/2a = -8000/[2(-2)] = 2000

x = 8000 - 2(2000) = 4000

A = 4000(2000) = 8,000,000 m²

poizon [28]

A function that represents the number of minutes it takes to deliver x newspapers is y = 12 + 2x/3.

<h3>What is the function?</h3>

The function that represents the number of minutes it takes to deliver x newspapers is: total minutes = time it takes to orgainse the newspapers + time it takes to deliver x newspapers

Time it takes to orgainse the newspapers = 12 minutes

Time it takes to deliver x newspapers = 2x / 3

y = 12 + 2x/3

What is the area of the sector that is NOT shaded?
Kazeer [188]
Hey there! And welcome to Brainly.

Remember that the area of a circle is π*radius^2
Remember that there are 360<span>° in a circle.

</span>The angle of the unshaded part would be 360° minus the shaded part of 60<span>°.
</span>360°- 60° = 300<span>°
</span>Since the area of a circle is πr^2, and the section of the circle is 300°, or 300/360 = 5/6 or one full circle, the area of the unshaded region is
(5/6)π*radius^2
= (5/6)π*12^2
= 120π units^2

A long year-end status report for work is 130 pages long. You need to print 17 copies for a meeting next week. How much is the p
Nikitich [7]
The first thing you should do in this case is to know how much paper you need to print for the 17 copies.
 We have then:
 (17) * (130) = 2210
 Then, you must calculate the number of reams you need:
 n = (2210) / (500) = 4.42
 You need 4 full reams and 42% of a fifth ream. So, the cost will be
 C = (4.42) * (3.44) = 15.2048 $
 The unit cost of each paper is:
 Cu = (15.2048) / (2210) = 0.00688 $
 answer
 the paper is going to cost 0.00688 $ for those reports
