Which sentence contains a plural subject?

English
1 answer:
Sonja [21]4 years ago

The sentences that take a plural subject are

Denise and Natalie play on the same basketball team.

It can be identified since this sentence is the only that has agreement with the verb. The other three sentences do not have a plural subject because even some nouns or noun phrases are joined with and, they refer to a singular subject (America's largest city and cultural center) (Hammers and Nails) because the verb is in the singular

HELP AND I DO NOT ACCEPT FILES, I WILL GIVE BRAINLEIST, 5 STARS, AND A THANKS
kiruha [24]

Answer:

I'll just paste the things that i would highlight.

Explanation:

the nuthatch inserts itself

between feeder and pole

two mallards drifting

one dunks for a snail

the length of silence

after a loon’s call

I highlighted these because the other lines were very vague, ex. "a mourning dove lifts off" it doesn't help me imagine because I don't know where the dove lifted off from.

The principal objective of our booster club is to raise money for new marching band uniforms. Which definition best helps reader
marissa [1.9K]

Answer:

A. first, highest in rank or importance

Explanation:

The word principal can mean a crossbar, a sum of money, the highest authority in an organization and something that comes first in order of importance.

In the example sentence, principal is an adjective which modifies the noun it follows, objective. Thus, the right definition of a word is the one that is more suitable according to the word category and context that surrounds it. Actually, the sentence means that the main purpose or goal of the club is to raise money to get new band uniforms.

What might the author have included Ryan O'brien's guide to poetic forms?
Cloud [144]

Answer:

I think I would've really enjoyed this one when I was a kid. It's kind of a fiction/non-fiction hybrid. It's the story of Ryan O'Brian and his inability to stop composing poetry. It continues all day, and the reader is introduced to a variety of poetic forms. The story comes to a conclusion when Ryan's teacher gives the class a poetry-writing assignment... and Ryan finds that he's finally drawing a blank!
