The correct answer is B) Russia.

In recent years, a large number of asylees to the United States have come from the following countries except, Russia.

The asylees have come from Haiti, Colombia, and China.

For the government of the United State through the Department of Homeland Security, and asylee is "a person outside its country of nationality who is unable to return because of persecution." The asylee is the person that is already in a port on entry, seeking admission to the United States. We can see an actual example with the critical situation that is being lived in the Mexico-US border, where thousands of people from Central America from countries like El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Honduras, want to seek asylum in the US.

What event led to the 1964 Gulf of Tonkin Resolution?
Alecsey [184]

Answer: Alleged attacks by North Vietnam against US naval ships in the Gulf of Tonkin.

Detail:

The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was a measure passed by US Congress that allowed the US President to make military actions, like increase troops, without formal declaration of war. It led to huge escalation of US involvement in the Vietnam War. The resolution was passed by Congress in August, 1964, after alleged attacks on two US naval ships in the Gulf of Tonkin. The key wording in the resolution said:

 • Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, that the Congress approves and supports the determination of the President, as Commander in Chief, to take all necessary measures to repel any armed attack against the forces of the United States and to prevent further aggression.

That resolution served as a blank check for President Johnson to send troops to whatever extent he deemed necessary in pursuance of the war. Between 1964 and the end of Johnson's presidency in 1969, US troop levels in Vietnam increased from around 20,000 to over 500,000.

What is the concept that a law can be reconsidered, and declared unconstitutional?
navik [9.2K]
The only answer that makes sense is C, Judicial review. The judicial branch specifically has the power to review laws passed by the legislative and executive branches and invalidate or amend them. Their main purpose in this process is to determine whether a law is constitutional or unconstitutional, and is a check against the other two branches.
