Federalism is a system of government where power is divided between the central and state government. In Federalism, there is separation of power between the central and state government.

In the Constitution, the Federalism system of government assigns power to the central government to oversee all activities that affect the whole country while the state government is concerned about matters relating to their region.

In Federalism, there could be competition of power between the central and state government especially in the provision of welfare to the citizens, for example, security can both be controlled by the central and state government, Schools are established by central and state government likewise hospitals and so many other things.
